The Centrum for Disability Services became a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in January of 2004. Previously the Centrum was part of Casper College known as the Wyoming Centrum for Assistive Technology.  The Centrum provides services based on a client-centered philosophy.

The Centrum for Disability Services provides assistive technology assessments for schools, waiver clients, VA and DVR clients throughout the State of Wyoming. The Centrum also supplies assistive technology and adaptive technology to Wyoming Medicaid Waiver clients, Wyoming Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, clients and school districts.

In 2003, while associated with Casper College, the Centrum was awarded the Benefit Planning Assistance & Outreach (BPAO) contract from the Social Security Administration. In September 2006, the Social Security Administration awarded the Work Incentive Planning Assistance (WIPA) contract to the Centrum. The WIPA services are provided throughout the State of Wyoming operating under the Wyoming Work Incentive Planning Assistance Services (WyWIPAS).

The WyWIPAS services assist Social Security beneficiaries make informed choices when thinking about returning to work. When the beneficiary returns to work, the Centrum provides employment supports which includes: referral and information; benefit analysis; benefit management; and problem solving to the beneficiary.

The Centrum supports the work endeavors of beneficiaries with a thorough knowledge of the work incentives, community resources, and other agencies services available to the beneficiary. WyWIPAS supports beneficiary's effort to sucessfully maintain their employment.
